Did you Know

A fire in any craft, especially engine room related, could be catastrophic. Be sure to check the fire extinguishers on a regular basis. Check how your gear works BEFORE you need to use it.

What do the different TYPE’S mean? They relate to different burn type: Class A, anything that leaves an Ash. Class B, anything in a Barrel or that goes Boom. Class C, Charge (i.e., electrical).

Install a 50mm diameter view port to your engine room. This allows visibility without admitting excess oxygen to the fire and is a means of accessing the fire with an extinguisher, use an extinguisher with a long nozzle.

When using an extinguisher remember the acronym PASS: Pull pin, Aim at base, Squeeze and Sweep.
